LIVE/DJ STUFF Mettle Music add an extra dimension or two to their DJ sets with the aid of specially prepared tracks, re-edits, live percussion, keyboards & their own virtual studio in a laptop. The full live band experience with guitar, keyboards, sax, flute, percussion, & bass is as close as you will get to a live band playing house music but probably more suitable for club's is the option of a part live/part DJ element which combines the deep funky sounds of Mettle Music's own unique and specially prepared tracks with the options of live sax, flute, guitar, percussion, keys & vocals from Spanish singer Susana Montero (Malena, Neat Music)evolving into a fully loaded set of groovin' house resulting in a completely new and unique set every time. producers/musicians all involved in the new 'Vibes' series of compilation
albums. Featured members Nic Conef (Mettle Music), Robin Lee (Faze Action),
Richard Gow (Rhythm Slaves) & Ben Mitchell (Mr Hermano/Sao Benitez)
have put together a highly accomplished live band which can easily adapt
from accesible, deep, laidback lounge grooves for more intimate rooms
to vibrant, energetic booty shakin club sets for the main rooms & live
venues.

Vibes Collective Nic Conef is a DJ & producer who, as part of the Mettle Music production team (with Mark Wadsworth) has featured on over 20 12" releases on such highly respected labels as; Toko, Transport, Afterhours, Low Pressings, Nordic Trax & Dadhouse etc and has also had tracks featured on over 50 compilation albums with accumulated sales in excess of 400,000. Nic recently put together the 'Destination Manchester' compilation for Bar De Lune Records & the second Mettle Music album (following 'Honeycomb Lounge' on Toko ' ÔMoodswings' was released in Oct 2003. He launched the U.S distributed 'Mettle Trax' label soon after & then followed through with the new UK distributed label 'Mettle Music' in October 2004, Taking things on to the next level, this Summer Nic is launching a new series of CD compilations through the Mettle Music label with the first release 'Latin Vibes' available now. Ben Mitchell is a multi-instrumentalist specialising in drums & percussion. As a producer Ben has worked with such credible artists as Terry Callier, The Lo Fidelity All-Stars and Afrobeat legend Bukky Leo. His own projects include Sao Benitez whose huge remixes of Masters At Work, Paula Lima, Samantha Mumba and Jimmy Smith have all been club anthems in their own right and can be found on the Sao Benitez album 'Elemental' out last summer. He is also the founder of Mr Hermano recently releasing their second album ÔFree As The Morning SunÕ for Disorient Records. He has just completed an album with Nu-Jazz DJ Russ Dewbury, the album Mitchell & Dewbury'ÔRapping With The Gods' is due out early next year. Current projects include remixes of Brazilian legend Seu Jorge, Rios Marcello D2 plus Beverley Knight and Brenda Russell as well as a remix of Eddy De Clercq for Blue Note Records. Albums in production include the new Sao Benitez album and Billie Godfrey's debut album. Robin Lee plays bass & keys & with his bother Simon, has been releasing records since 1997 as Faze Action. After signing to Nuphonic in 1997 Faze released their debut album ÔPlans & DesignsÕ followed by 'Moving Cities' in 1999, while also proving themselves as respected remixers working on tracks for the likes of Francoise K, Saint Etienne, Rae & Christian, Femi Kuti and many more. The Faze Action Live Experience has toured extensively over the years including places such as the US, Spain, Kuala Lumpa & Australia. 2004 saw the release of the third album''Broad Soul'' for Bar De Lune Records and they are currently working with Reel People vocalist Vanessa Freeman on a new project for Papa Records. Richard Gow plays keyboards & possesses innumerable experience, having evolved through the spectrum of genres & landing with a unique blend of house and jazz with an inherent dance floor feel. Circa 1987, Richard began creating his own sounds and collaborating with other respected artists. In the late nineties, he returned to his loves of both jazz and dance music and began to infiltrate the production realm under various monikers. In recent years, he has signed several original tracks and remixes to labels including EMI, Rise and Sony. In 2001, Richard began working alongside a group of live musicians under one of his most notable aliasÕ, The Rhythm Slaves creating "Jazzy house with a dancefloor feel to it". The first EP was released on The RuralsÕ renowned imprint Peng & the record attracted attention from many of the worldÕs top DJs, including Mark Farina, Larry Heard and Gilles Peterson. Currently living in Cannes, Richard has released tracks on Real Estate Records, Odds 'n' Õ Ends, Grab Recordings, Elevation Recordings, and also recently had several releases on his own imprint Soussol Records, most notably The Rhythm Slaves album 'Take Your Time'.
